Local rides…
We offer half and full day riding excursions on our horses and ponies. All rides are led by an experienced, certified riding instructor who is familiar with the course. Rides are conducted every day except Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Local rides (half day)
Half day local rides begin in the afternoon with us gathering at 14:00 (2pm). Together we bring the horses up from the meadow to the stable and saddle them. After explaining the safety regulations, it’s time to go. On returning to the farm at about 18:00 (6pm) saddles are removed and the horses brought back to the pasture.
These rides are suitable for all riders who are familiar and relaxed with walking, trotting and galloping in open country on experienced horses. At this level we cover a distance of about 20 km during which we enjoy 2 to 3 extended gallops per ride. These rides are also suitable for children who ride well and are over the age of 12 years, when accompanied by their parents. (As a rule children up to the age of 15 must always be accompanied when riding).
Local rides (full day)
We also offer whole day local rides, normally beginning at 9:30 in the morning and returning about 18:30 in the evening. Two riding levels are available:
Intermediate level: suitable for all riders who are familiar and relaxed with walking, trotting and galloping in open country on mature and experienced trail horses. At this level we cover a distance of about 30 km during which we enjoy 2 to 3 extended gallops per ride. Intermediate level rides are also suitable for children who ride well and are over the age of 12 years, when accompanied by their parents. (As a rule children up to the age of 15 must always be accompanied when riding).
Sporting (advanced) level: at this level the emphasis is on brisk and sporty riding, with the aim of covering as many kilometres as possible, mostly at a canter. The horses have plenty of stamina and are well capable of this level of performance, normally covering about 45 km per ride.

The staff of Ferme de Borgirault reserve the right to refuse to allow a rider who in their opinion does not meet the required standard to take part in riding activities, since doing so could be dangerous both for persons and animals involved or nearby. We ask for your understanding if this should occur.
